Health Department Updating Community Health Needs Assessment

The Cambridge-Guernsey County Health Department is in the process of updating the Community Health Needs Assessment. The Ohio Department of Health (ODH) requires that local health departments update the needs assessment data regularly for many ODH funded grants and as part of meeting the Public Health Standards. The Health Department staff has used multiple sources to compile updated mortality, morbidity and behavioral health data. Within the next few months, the Health Department will be mailing a short community opinion survey to a random sample of Guernsey County residents. The Health Department asks that you take a few moments of your time to complete and return the survey in order to gather public opinion regarding the health needs of our community. The opinion survey data will be compiled and presented to a committee of community representatives for review. The community health needs will be ranked with the intention of focusing efforts toward the top three to five health needs in Guernsey County.

The Health department will be releasing a series of newspaper articles outlining overall data results from the Needs Assessment. Any community member interested in serving on the Community Health Needs Assessment Committee should contact Linda Mehl, Director of Nursing at 439-3577 extension 231.
