THE GUERNSEY COUNTY LAW
LIBRARY ASSOCIATION operates
the Law Library. The Trustees of the Association want all Library patrons
to be aware of the following policies:
1. AUTHORIZED USERS: The law authorizes access by Association
Members, Judges, and certain elected public officials. During regular
working hours trained employees of Association Members may be permitted
use of selected equipment by the Law Librarian but such use shall not
interfere with a member's use.
2. VISITORS: While the Law Library is not a public access library, those who are permitted
to use the Law Library may do so only when the library is open and when
such use does not conflict with the Authorized Users. Visitors may not
use library equipment (copier, Fax, computers, phone, reader printer,
etc.). No books may be removed from the Library by Visitors. When the
Library is closed, no Visitors may remain in the Law Library without an
Authorized User being present and accountable for the Visitor or without
prior specific arrangements having been made with the Librarian. Visitors
are not to use the library for meetings and are asked not to make excessive
noise or smoke and are to maintain an atmosphere conducive to study and
research.
No more than
three (3) visitors at a time may be in the Law Library.
Library employees
are not required to provide any research assistance other than to point
out location of the books.
No student will
be in the Law Library when it is not open. Copies may be obtained for
fees. Visitors are limited to ten (10) sheets/copies per day.
3. PROHIBITIONS: No smoking. No firearms or weapons (unless licensed and disclosed to the
Library Employee). No device, which interferes with the purpose of the
Law Library or the use of the Library by others, may be brought into the
Law Library. No meeting or deposition use of the Law Library may be exercised
without the prior approval of the Law Librarian. No individual duplication
of Law Library keys is authorized.
4. LIBRARIAN: The Law Library employee is present to assist Authorized Users and to
maintain the Library, not to assist Visitors in legal research, duplicating,
or other tasks. The Authorized Users have special training and experience
in the use of legal research materials and normally need only to be shown
the location of the materials before they conduct their own research.
The Law Library employee is authorized to eject any Library Visitor. |
